Borea is a Belgian Tripel type beer, with a Galician air, aged in Albariño soaked wine barrels. Borea is a collaboration between the master brewer Luis Vida, the brewers Yria and Madrid locals, O Pazo de Lugo and Chinasky.
“As a name we have chosen Bórea, which is an imaginative feminization of the mythological character of Boreas, son of Eolo, god of the winds, who embodied the north wind for the Greeks. And as Belgium and Galicia are out there, this would be “the tripel that came from the north”.
With this premise, for us at Hop Wear, it was clear that we could represent each of the elements that made up the beer, from its geographical and historical connections to the concept of it’s name.
